GRANITAL SPA was founded by the Cerri brothers, in
June 1977 as a saw-mill of Italian and
foreign granite blocks with is own production and also for external
companies. The social
connection has remained constant and the Cerri family still own
100% of the company. Since
the early 1980s in order to satisfy the growing demand of
Sarizzo, Granital SpA puchased
their own cave in the locality of Cramec of Premia, in the region
of Verbano Cusio Ossola.
The cave is capable of supplying a constant production which is
both qualitative and
quantitative of Sarizzo Formazza.

The commercial success over the years has guaranteed a dimensional
and constant growth for
the company: this has included an icrease in its productive capacity.
Today Granital is
equipped with six multiblade cutting machines capable of guaranteeing
a total yearly
production of around 85.000 metres squared. The productive
plant is located on an area of
45.000 metres squared of which around 5.500 are indoors. In 2002,
in addition to the
existent machinery, a diamond cutting machine was installed, capable
of fulfilling any type
of shape on marble, granite and stone

Granital spa commercialise slabs of varied thickness
and are capable of carrying out all of the
slab finishings actually requested by the market: smoothers, polishers,
flamers, rejecters,
grit-blasting and the innovative antique finish. In the latter,
the flamed slab gets "brushed"
with a series of brushes thus obtaining a smooth to the touch surface
that adds to its
prominent colour and easy cleaning.

Eighty percent of the production is in Sarizzo, 10% of other
Italian granites (above all from
Sardinia), and the remaining 10% of granites from North Africa,
Scandinavian countries, Spain,
India and Brazil. Furthermore, since 2001, Granital has undertaken
the commercialisation of
principal marbles.

Since 2003 Granital has insetted a new exclusive article
from Verbano Cusio Ossola: Sciuena stone.
The commercial organisation of Granital, which is also availed with
agents, is structured
in a way which reduces evasion order time to a minimum also through
the use of its own
motor-vehicles for deliveries. 10% of production is exported, principally
to Germany where
commercial contacts were initiaded in the early 80s.

The awareness of the growing importance
of the problematic environmental issues, has pushed
Granital to create an area assigned to waste management
deriving from its cutting processes.
